Joleyne Mayers-Jaekel, MA(L)

I am a graphic recorder and lettering artist who brings conversations to life through large-scale visual storytelling and expressive lettering. With a background in education and facilitation, I specialize in capturing key ideas in real time using hand-drawn visuals and calligraphic text. I work in styles such as Neuland hand, brush lettering, and sign painter-inspired scripts—blending the precision of calligraphy with the dynamic nature of live graphic recording. Based in Treaty 7 territory, I travel widely to support organizations, including non-profits, governments, and Indigenous communities, helping people see their thinking and dialogue take shape in meaningful ways.
I offer hands-on graphic recording workshops that invite participants to explore the power of visual thinking. Rooted in principles of deep-listening, layout, lettering, and hierarchy, my sessions are designed for beginners and experienced creatives alike. Whether you're looking to build confidence with drawing, lettering, experiment with brush pens, or learn how to visually map conversations in real time, my workshops are interactive, practical, and encouraging. I create a welcoming space for participants to "work big", play, practice, and develop skills they can apply in meetings, classrooms, or community engagement work.

Karin Huehold

I love teaching watercolour - it can be used in so many ways - backgrounds for your letters, drawing letters with a brush, filling nibs with beautiful colours, etc. I also love using line to design my work. I encourage students to find their own design style, draw words and shapes and then add watercolour.
