This is a two-day class... where Christine Ahmad will lead you through some simple styles filled with designs, water colours and embellishment.
When:

November 15 – 16, 2025

9am – 4 pm each day (with a 1 hour lunch break) 

Description:

Join Christine Ahmad for a joyful two-day exploration of artful lettering! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn two styles of drawn letters and how to combine them into whimsical designs perfect for cards, bookmarks, or envelopes. Christine will guide you through playful embellishments using watercolours, pencil crayons, and more—bringing your letters to life with colour and charm.

Whether you're new to lettering or looking to expand your creative toolkit, this class is all about curiosity, creativity, and having fun with words.

  • Pencil & eraser
  • Ruler
  • Quad pad (graph paper)
  • Watercolours & brush
  • Water pot
  • Paper towel
  • Pencil crayons

Optional Extras:

  • A small piece of Arches Text Wove for a finished piece
  • Water-soluble markers
 
Registration fee is: 

$95 for members

$115 for non-members 

Registration for a maximum of 18 students: Check back on the registration date and a Register button will appear here. For non-members, a button to "Sign up without becoming a member" will appear after clicking Register on September 9th. Registrations open at 8 am.

Important Notes:

  • Fees are nonrefundable unless you are cancelling for a medical reason OR your spot is filled from a wait list.
  • BVCG reserves the right to cancel the workshop if registration is insufficient; in that case, workshop fees will be refunded.
  • When paying by credit card, our software provider Yapla covers the service charge of 3.9%, so that the BVCG receives the full workshop fee. In doing so, they allow members to donate to Yapla, to support their work as a non-profit organization helping other non-profits. Watch for the purple "Modify" link at the bottom of the screen at the Payment step. Click on "Modify" to delete the donation or change the amount. Yapla has been great to work with and is a Canadian company.
About the Instructor: 

Christine Ahmad is a self-taught artist who has had a paintbrush in her hand since the age of four! She’s passionate about words, colour, and creative play. Her motto: Be curious and playful.
